Immunisation

Immunisations records are required to be shown at time of entrance to the Centre. NSW Health legislation requires that in the event of a notified outbreak of a preventable disease that unimmunised children will be excluded from attendance by a Health Liaison Officer until the outbreak is over, at the fee expense of the parent. All allergies oe medical conditions should be noted on the enrollment form. If your child has Asthma, allergies or other serious conditions a Plan Of Action must be supplied from your Doctor.

Medication

Medicine must be provided in the original container. If prescribed medication is to be given to a child, their name must be on it. A child must have been on antibiotics for 24 hours before resuming attendance, unless provided with a medical certificate of fitness. Please ask Staff for assistance to fill out a medical permission form. It is a parents responsibility to collect medicine at home time.

Please refrain from sending an unwell child. An early phone call to signal an absence is appreciated. Child Care Benefit only allows 30 absences for holidays per financial year but unlimited sick leave with a Doctors Certificate.

Sick Child at Preschool

The Director will determine if the parent needs to be contacted if a child is sick or injured. The child will be comforted until the parent or an authorised person arrives.

Safety & Emergency Procedure

A member of staff with a current first aid certificate is always on duty. It is a requirement that you sign the permission release form allowing staff to seek appropriate medical attention int eh event of a serious accident or sickness. Incident reports are retained at the Centre and copies issued to parents. Emergency evacuation is practiced so as every child is drilled at least four times per year and emergency procedures are displayed at exits.

Please don't let your child bring any beads, elastic bands,cords, coins, sharps, small or potential choking objects.
